Yoga is a great tool for the beginner or seasoned golfer. In golf, players need to develop a good swing. Golfers need to improve mobility in the lower back, hips and have an excellent range of movement in the shoulders and arms. Yoga can help golfers develop flexibility in the hips, strengthen legs, glutes and increase stability in the spine. This practice can improve your shoulder and arm movements to help develop a better range of motion to improve your swing. You will be guided through a series of breathing techniques, physical postures and relaxation to help you enjoy a better performance and improve your wellbeing.
- Marilene Walker -
In March 2019, Peter Myers, a PGA Golf Professional and Marilene Walker, a qualified Yoga instructor, teamed up to create a unique combined Yoga and Golf event designed exclusively for women.
Both Peter and Marilene are passionate about helping people to live a happier, healthier lifestyle and the combined health benefits of Yoga and Golf meant this was a great opportunity to form a Professional partnership.
“I would never have seen myself playing golf. In fact, I would go as far as to say that golf would be the last sport I would ever have taken up. I have however had a complete change of heart but to put this into context; It’s not just the challenge of learning something new that has me hooked but also the friendships that are being formed and the camaraderie that comes with it. "
- Sandra Ross, from Sandhaven
“Marilene, thanks for a great class on Monday evening, I am feeling so refreshed and relaxed, I was worried about my arthritis but it is really helping my knee joints! Looking forward to next week.”
- Beryl Field, from Fraserburgh
“A fantastic programme which I hope takes off in more parts of Scotland! I don’t think the majority of us in the group expected to get to the stage where we would want our own equipment and to be members of a club but pretty much everyone in our group has done this which I think is in part due to the enthusiasm for the sport from Pete and the encouragement from the group as a whole”
- Rachelle Cardno, from Inverallochy
